Welcome!

Thank you for your interest in C.H.A.C.O. Dog Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC. Here is a list of our upcoming classes. We look forward to helping you and your dog soon!

Our classes are held in either a spacious, secure outside location surrounded by Junipers and Piñon trees or an inside classroom which is ample and always at the right temperature, parking is never a problem. We are located 15 minutes from downtown Santa Fe. Best of all, our classes are always small. With the exception of Kinder Pup 1 (which is open to six puppies) all our other classes are the smallest in town with only 4 dogs per class. Boutique™ dog training classes: less barking, more personal attention and more learning… Come check us out! You will not be disappointed. A Deux Basic Obedience Express™ @ C.H.A.C.O.'s Hub in Tesuque
Aug 22 @ 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Screen Shot 2017-01-14 at 6.35.35 PM **CLASS IS FULL** Class Description:
Adolescence is a transitional period that varies from pup to pup. During this stage your puppy will begin to “test” new boundaries (and you) and become more interested in other dog friends and what the environment has to offer. This class is shorter than your average six -week course since there are only 2 participants per class! Allowing us to move faster and deeper into all what you and your pup need to master.

Basic Obedience A Deux Express™ is here to help you maintain your adolescent social-graces and give you the know-how so that you can continue to reinforce the behaviors that you want in your dog. You will learn how to reward your dog for behaviors around the home and on “the go.” Special attention will be given to typical adolescent behavior such as: “selective-hearing” when it comes to leaving undesirable items, avoiding you at all cost, exuberance (jumping, mouthing, pulling on leash, and rough play with other dogs) lack of impulse control: dashing through doors, unable to sit/stay or down/stay when requested.

The Details: This is a small class  – small as it gets! Open to 2 dogs & handlers between ages: 4 1⁄2 months – to under 24 months. Also open to older dogs that have not attended a basic obedience class. We will be working inside a temperature-controled room and outside weather permitting, so please dress in layers.

Dates & Time: Four, 1 hr. on site classes. Orientation materials will be e-mailed for review at home 1 week prior to class. Tuesdays, August 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd from 3-4pm

Pre-requisites: Dogs must be dog and people friendly (no lunging, growling at dogs or people).
Required Vaccinations: Rabies, DHLPP (distemper & parvo) or titer test. Proof of vaccination required at first class.

Fee: $321 (Santa Fe county tax included).

Trainer: Almudena Ortiz Cué M.A. CTC, CPDT, Tellington TTouch™ Cert.

NOTE: Class fee remains the same for same household dogs. Each dog requires an adult handler.

For new clients, you must complete the form on this page and submit payment below before registering for this class. Private Training for Snake Avoidance – Using Reward Based Methods @ C.H.A.C.O.'s Hub in Tesuque
Aug 23 @ 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm

image 1If you train your dog often by following science based and well designed training  protocols your dog clearly stands a much higher chance of moving away from a snake if he ever encounters one. Via private training we will teach your dog how not to approach the snake and instead come back to you and if you are not present to move away from the snake.

My approach in teaching the above skills – like everything I teach – is based on the Behavioral Sciences (how animals learn among other things).

It is also based on reinforcing the dog for making the correct choice: Moving away from the snake, instead of shocking the dog when in the presence of one.

The Details:
8, 1 hr. private training  $856.00 (Santa Fe county tax included)
We will work with your dog at C.H.A.C.O’s hub in Tesuque  for a number of sessions as well as in your home if you live within my service area, otherwise all sessions will be held at C.H.A.C.O’s Hub in Tesuque.

If you are interested in this training please contact me directly: info@chacodogtraining.com or by phone at 505-954-1434.

NOTE:
You will have to buy some supplies in order to practice with your dog between session.

Since this is a private training, available dates and times will be discussed during the time of booking.
