Kinder Pup 2 (Basic Obedience) @ C.H.A.C.O.'s Hub in Tesuque.
Sep 1 @ 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm

C.H.A.C.O. Dog Training & Behavior ConsultingClass Description: Adolescence is a transitional period that varies from pup to pup. During this stage your puppy will begin to “test” new boundaries (and you) and become more interested in other dog friends and what the environment has to off︎er. Kinder Pup 2 is here to help you maintain your adolescent social-graces and give you the know-how so that you can continue to reinforce the behaviors that you want in your dog. The choice, of course, is yours: to bite the bullet now by continuing with the “education” of your adolescent dog or subject yourself to a life of rowdy behaviors and a not-so-fun life with a dog.

You will learn how to reward your dog for behaviors around the home and on “the go”. Special attention will be given to typical adolescent behavior such as: “selective-hearing” when it comes to leaving undesirable items, avoiding you at all cost, exuberance (jumping, mouthing, pulling on leash and rough play with other dogs) lack of impulse control: dashing through doors, unable to sit/stay or down/stay when requested.

We will be working inside a temperature-control room and outside weather permitting, so please dress in layers.

The Details: This is a semi-private class open to 4 dogs & 4 handlers between ages: 4 1⁄2 months – to under 24 months. Also open to older dogs that have not attended a basic obedience class.

Dates & Time: Six week class – Thursday, Sept. 1st, 8th, 15th 22nd 29th and October 6th from 1:00-2:00 pm

Pre-requisites: Dogs must be dog and people friendly (no lunging, growling at dogs or people).

Required Vaccinations: Rabies, DHLPP (distemper & parvo) or titer test where applicable. Proof of vaccination required at first class.

Instructor: Almudena Ortiz Cué M.A. CTC, CPDT, Tellington TTouch™ Cert.

Fee: $160.05 (Santa Fe county tax included).

NOTE: First class is a people only class. NO DOGS please. Enrollment for class closes when class is full or 3 days prior to the class starting date.

For new clients, you must complete the form on this page and submit payment below before registering for this class.
